Our Story
Hi, I'm Camille, founder of Kit & Petal.
Like many parents, I spent countless hours searching for baby clothes that felt truly soft, comfortable, and thoughtfully made. I wanted pieces that were gentle against delicate skin, simple enough for everyday wear, and made from materials I could feel good about bringing into my home.
When my daughter was born, I quickly realized that many baby clothes were either covered in loud graphics, made with synthetic materials, or simply didn't hold up to daily wear. I wanted something different: elevated essentials that felt beautiful, practical and incredibly soft. That’s what became the starting point for Kit & Petal.
Founded in New York in 2024, Kit & Petal was created with a simple goal: to make timeless baby and toddler clothing that prioritizes comfort, quality and thoughtful design. As a parent of two young children, I know how important it is to have everyday essentials that are soft, reliable, and easy to reach for again and again.
What We Make
Every piece in our collection, from our signature rompers to everyday bodysuits, shirts, pants and shorts, is made from organic cotton sourced from GOTS-certified suppliers and tested to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 requirements. That means no harsh chemicals, no synthetic shortcuts and no compromises on the fabrics touching your baby's skin.
We design for real life: soft enough for sensitive skin, durable enough for daily wear, and simple enough to reach for again and again.
The Story Behind Our Name
The name Kit & Petal reflects the inspiration behind our brand: "Kit" represents the playful nature of a baby fox, symbolizing the fun and curious spirit of childhood. "Petal” captures the tender softness and comfort that every child deserves, just like the delicate petals of a flower. Together, they capture our vision of creating thoughtfully designed essentials that feel comfortable, timeless, and rooted in simplicity.

Our Commitment To Comfort & Quality
We believe the clothes children wear every day should be made with care and with organic cotton. We chose organic cotton for its softness, breathability and comfort, but also because it’s grown and processed without many of the harsh chemicals commonly used in conventional textile production.
All of pieces are OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified, meaning they’ve been tested to ensure they’re free from harmful substances and safe for sensitive skin. Our organic cotton is sourced from GOTS-certified suppliers, meeting strict environmental and ethical standards from organic farming to responsible production. Together, these standards help ensure our clothing is gentle on sensitive baby skin.
